Equal?

Hi everyone, I'm feeling a little down because it feels like things are not equal in my relationship. I love my boyfriend but sometimes it just feels like he expects me to do all the "woman things" like cooking and cleaning. I'm worried that when we have kids one day, I'll have to be the one to stay home and take care of them too.

Is this how a relationship should be? does your boyfriend do his equal part?

I actually have no problem doing the "woman things" and my husband likes being the one that does "manly things" but when I need help cleaning or cooking he steps in. I would maybe talk to him and ask him nicely to help sometimes. Just say things like when he helps you out in the kitchen it turns you on. Men are like animals you have to reward them after good behavior lol. So if he helps you cook dinner one night then jump his bones and make sure he knows that's why you're jumping his bones! He should definitely start helping more then lol

Trust me I always used to complain and nag, but it doesn't get anything done. Now I compliment him and thank him for the smallest of tasks because I know if I acknowledge those things he won't view it as nagging if I ask him to help me around the house more often.

that's not how a relationship should be if YOU don't want it to. if you want your relationship to be completely equal, you must talk to him. he doesn't need to be rewarded with sex just for doing what makes you happy. if it truly matters to him, he'll do it without expecting a prize. I have been through a lot of relationships trying to find the right guy for me. it takes time. after years of shitty relationships and feeling "small" I finally found someone who respects me and doesn't believe in "woman" tasks and "man" tasks. so first, talk with your boyfriend. if he doesn't make any changes maybe it's best to keep looking

Relationships are also about sacrifice. Yes it should be 50/50. But no relationship starts out perfect and stays perfect. Everyone likes to be thanked after doing something. If you're just negative and complain that he never helps out and are always yelling at him, he's going to tune you out. No one likes being nagged out woman or man. I reward my husband with sex just because I like sex and so does he. We're passionate people and we do it all the time and everywhere. If you just give up on a relationship because you think that it's too much effort then you could possibly be walking away from your soulmate.
