Can anyone answer questions about a first fertility appointment?

I'm getting my referral in the mail shortly to make my first appointment because I'm 36 and we've been trying for our second for about a year. I ovulate around day 20 and I do notice some fertile cm most months. When should I make the appointment-at what point in my cycle? After my next period is over? What can I expect at the appointment? Will they want to test my husband right away and what can you do if sperm is the problem? Thanks.
