Laughter is golden.
This is a good one. In a small study, done in 2010, they ran an experiment on women who were waiting in a waiting room at a drs office to have embryo transfers during IVF.
With half the women, they literally sent in a clown to make them laugh for 15 minutes prior to their procedure. 15 minutes of acting silly and goofy and being amused. With the other half, they just let them wait in the waiting room.
Would you believe that 36.4% of the women who laughed with the clown got pregnant?
While only 20.2% of the women who did not laugh got pregnant.
That is a HUGE difference. Huge. And very statistically significant.
As we are not all doing IVF - how does this apply to us? I think it shows the importance of finding reasons to laugh, frequently during this journey.
