How long have I been trying?

Me and my boyfriend have been sleeping together for 10 months without protection but only really been 'trying' and using glow for 3 months ish, an I classed as trying for 3 months or 10?

I would say 10 months. Me and my husband have been together 6 years and only really been trying for the last 2 months but we have NEVER used protection. Doctors say to try for 1 year before going to the doctors and we were seen straight away last month by doctors and fertility clinic.
