Frustrated (pcos)

Heather
Hi ladies, so this is a pretty lengthy story but I'm hoping atleast one person will be able to give me feedback.
In March 2013 I went off of the pill because of how horrible it made me feel.  I was on the pill for about 2 years and I never lasted long because my doctor would CONSTANTLY change the brand of pill I was on. A month after going off, I got my period on time. After that I didn't get my period until the beginning of August and my husband and I began talking about having children. So come November we made an appointment with my obgyn to see if there was a reason my period was still all over the place or if it was normal. She told me it could take up to 3 months and anything after that I should get tested for pcos. She also told me it was because I was overweight (I was only 115lbs at the time). I had completely regular periods before going on the pill. She DID send me to get bloodwork done and she diagnosed me with pcos. HOWEVER she never checked my insulin, and only went off of the fact that my hormones were imbalanced (which I believed was because my body was still off from the pill), my acne (I literally got my period that day and any woman's face breaks out during that time), and because I had gained weight since being on the pill. Before I was on the pill I was 95lbs and it was IMPOSSIBLE for me to gain or lose any weight. And she refused to admit that the pill makes you gain weight. I do not have any unusual hair growing anywhere and I am now down to 105lbs.
NOW. My question for anyone who reads this is does it sound like I really DO have pcos ? Should I get retested and switch doctors?
On April 8th I had tested positive for ovulation so I know I'm ovulating on my own, however I still haven't gotten my period and all hpt are negative.
