What a Mother's Body Really Looks Like

Question

Check out photographer, Jade Beall's portraits of un-retouched post-partum bodies. These pictures are non-airbrushed. The stretch marks, C-section scars and rounded bellies are marks of a woman who’s grown life inside of her. It is Jade's hope to "empower other women to feel authentically irreplaceable."

I love it! These women are truly beautiful.

Mothers bodies look all kinds of ways. I stayed small and got no marks and my body is also a mothers body. People like me shouldn't be discounted because we didn't get stretch marks and pooches.

I didn't get stretch marks till after my son was born. I got them on the inside and outside of my thighs, and my boobs. Never on my stomach. I also used bio oil to make my purple stretch marks normal color skin again lol.

I managed to make I through 9 months of pregnancy without any stretch marks on my stomach I gained 50 lbs too and hardly ever applied lotion . But I did get them on my butt thighs , and breast .. I'm back down to my pre baby weight . But with summer coming I'm dreading bathing suit season . DH always informs me that I'm a tiger  that earned my stripes but I salute these women for being brave Enough to show the realistic view of a woman's body after having a baby . It's truly a wonder at what a woman's body is capable of doing .

I love these photos! I'm not a mother yet, but I almost cried when I saw how beautiful these women are and how strong they are to do this type of photo shoot. It's wonderful to see, and I thank you for sharing

I absolutley adore these photographs! I'm getting really annoyed with the unrealistic body images of mothers. Unless you're a hardcore workout enthusiast or have loads of money for surgeries, your post pregnancy body is not going to look far from perfect. Props to this photographer and mothers who are brave enough to show their not so perfect bodies!
