When your cycle is irregular, when do you test?

I went off bc in feb. No periods while on it for 3years. Was very regular before I went on it. Got a surprise AF on March 12. Heavy for 5 days. No period in April but surprise pos opk on April 21st. Then what looked like implantation bleeding from April 27th-28th. (Pink cm, and then brown streaked cm). I caved and took a test at 9dpo yesterday. Bfn. Glow is telling me my period should start on the 4th, this Sunday. But another app is saying that I will ovulate next week. I don't want to waste any more preg tests. When do you test when you're irregular? The tww and never knowing when I'm supposed to start or not is killing me.

I usually try on the earliest day which is cd 29 and again in cd 32 or lastest which is cd 39

Agreed, 9 DPO is still early. Hold out until 14 DPO. FWIW, my body has been slow to get back to normal after BCP. I was on it for 10 years because my periods were irregular as a teenager (I was also REALLY skinny as a teenager so that could've been why). My first cycle off BCP was 78 days. This cycle seems to be normal, 9 DPO today and if I get AF on time (if I don't, and get a BFP, even better!) my cycle will be about 36 days which is kinda normal! Hoping my cycles continue to be regular after this! Anyway, as for testing, it doesn't matter if you are irregular as long as you know you o'ed. Your cycle up to O can be as irregular as can be but once you O, the hormones in your body create what's called your luteal phase and it is almost always 10-14 days. After 14 days, you should get your BFP or AF. Does this make sense?

9 dpo is still fairly early to test. Since you're not 100% sure when af is due, wait til 14 dpo to test again!
