I do not clearly understand what it is when you fertile? Isn't it just your period?

On average you're fertile two weeks after day 1 of your period, but your cycle might vary, two weeks is just the average. I ovulate around cd16, and the days leading up to that are my fertile days. You are most definitely not fertile when you have your period, as you are nowhere near ovulation.
