How long can sperm live inside of you?

Ive heard and also read that sperm can live up to 7 days inside the female's reproductive system. I've also heard and read that sperm can live up to 5. And I've also heard and read that sperm can live up to 3 days inside a female's reproductive system. I don't know which one to believe and trust. Do any of y'all know the REAL and actual number of days sperm can live up to in the female's reproduction system after ejaculation?? Help please? /:

I have read 5, but only if you have fertile CM. So EWCM. If you don't have fertile CM, sperm won't live very long at all.

I was just told today sperm lives inside for 72hrs.

It's important to remember that what CAN happen and what usually happens generally aren't the same.  I think 3 days is typical but that isn't to say if you bd more than 3 days before ovulation that there is 0 chance for pregnancy.  Good luck!
