I didn't have my period for a whole year.. Bfn of course and I was roughly 16yrs at the time n my previous doctor was useless so I went to a new one she gave me a scan n found like 15 cysts on each ovary... That was when I first found out since then I've had a daughter who is now 4 and fell easily with her. Symptoms through the years would be... Pain in ovary when ovulating, weight gain and more facial hair then normal they r the main ones hope that helps a little bit?

My symptons was irregular period. I also had a lot of adult acne but didn't know that was a symptom of anything at the time. I had never heard of PCOS before the diagnosis. I had a dermoid cyst before and wanted to make sure I didn't have another so I had an ultrasound done showing polycystic ovaries which along with the irregular periods was enough for a diagnosis.

Weight gain (50+ lbs over 5-6 year period)Difficulty losing weight Long irregular cyclesAnovulation Dysfunctional uterine bleedingBorderline hemoglobin A1CHigh FSH/LH ratioBorderline serum testosterone level  My diagnosis came as a result of my clinical presentation with menstrual history and lab results. I did have an ultrasound done and they did not see the cysts, but I understand that visualization is not the only definitive method of diagnosis.
