Advice please

Ok so me and my partner have just started ttc and I'm 2 days late for my period and when I was using birth control I was never late. I have taken 2 tests in the past 2 weeks and both turned out negative (I was using first response with the lines) but should I still go out and get a clearblue digital test and see what that says? Or should I just wait and see if my period is just late? Take note that normally a couple of days leading up to my period I would usually get cramps and/or spotting and I haven't had any of those but however I did get some spotting about a week before my period that only lasted a day. What should I do? Please help!. Thanks :)
