How to avoid alcohol with friends you haven't told?

Question

I just found out I'm pregnant! But my hcg is low and there's a chance it's ectopic or not viable. I'm waiting to have an ultrasound on Monday.

​My problem is I have plans for margaritas with some girlfriends this weekend - which I'm totally excited about. But I'm not ready to tell any of them I'm pregnant - especially since I'm not even sure if it's gonna last. But I also want to avoid alcohol just in case.

​How do I not drink without being totally obvious?!

Can you get there early/go up to the bartender when you order and ask for a virgin margarita?  I also am telling my friends that I'm cutting alcohol to lose weight.

Ya I would set it up with the bartender earlier and remember to ask for a separate check so your friends don't know. Or tell him you are on new medicine so you can't drink. Otherwise the only thing you can do is reschedule until you know what's going on with the baby. Good luck!

I had a hard time at a family party when I first found out.. I went up to the bar alone and ordered OJ and grenadine then a tonic water. No one noticed :)
