Birth control without anual exam?

I was forced to have a pap smear when i was 16, was put on birth control that messed me up and have been moody and pissed off the past year. Can I refuse the pelvic exam and still get my perscription? If im not on BC im not allowed to see my bf of 2 years all summer. I cant go threw another exam. I feel violated. I just need my BC.

You have to have the exam to make sure your healthy. There's chance of cervical cancer and cysts and an std if you don't get looked at once a year and make sure your healthy. Is it the dr that made you feel uncomfortable? After you have kids you won't care cuz you've just pushed a baby out of you into some drs face that you can't even see lol. It's not pretty being a girl but it's necessary. If it's the dr your not comfortable with ask some family members how they like their drs, see a female dr, maybe go to just a gyno dr. But when I went for my first pap when I was pregnant with my son at 19, I didn't know I ever needed a pap, no one told me. I had abnormal cells on my cervix. Having a pap is very important for your physical and sexual health, especially if your having sex without condoms.

Most places are now saying that they can not give you a Pap smear until you are 21, but you still have to get an exam for BC. I've only ever had to get one when I first went on it, and I haven't had to get one since

I didn't get a pap smear before I got birth control. when I was on birth control I did have a pap smear. my pap came back normal so now I get every 3 years.

It depends on what type of birth control you're asking for and how long ago it was since your last pelvic exam. Some methods require an exam before getting them, like the IUD. But please do keep in mind that it's very important for your health to get regular pelvic exams.

I think you need a pap swear in order to get on BC. No one likes to get a Pap smear done, but if you had a different doctor this time maybe that would help and make you feel more comfortable.
