Would you classes pink / brown spotting As start of your period?

I have to take clomid to ovulate and obviously don't want to waste it but also don't want to risk missing the window either. I had some pink discharge with tiny blood specks and yesterday had some pink spotting ( only once when I wiped ) and today have bad brown spotting ( again only when I wipe) would you classes that as day one of your period or wait until I tables up ( if it shows up ?) x
