Can someone explain BBT to me please?

Ive just done my bbt for first time. What am I looking out for I have no idea?

I learned about BBT from a book called 'Taking Charge of your Fertility' definitely worth getting :) basically, your temps should be lower before ovulation, rise at ovulation (by somewhere between .3-1.0 degrees) and stay up after ovulation for a bit- if you are pregnant, temps stay high. If AF is coming, they drop back down.
