VBAC -- advice or experience wanted !!

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone has any experience with vbac. I had my first born in September of 2013 and had to go on birth control so that I wouldn't get pregnant again too quickly. I took my IUD out last month and now I'm ttc #2 and hoping for a natural birth. The risks make me nervous but I would like to have a big family and they say you can only have so many c sections because that gets risky also. I had a c section because the baby was too big, my body was doing everything it was supposed to, I even got to 8cm. Because of this they say that I'm a good candidate but I'm nervous. I don't want another section, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy, the recovery was just so much harder and you miss a lot of the important stuff right after. Anyway, any advice or encouragement would be appreciated.
