Right or Wrong?

Question

My boyfriend and I have a close friend/family member that cannot conceive and knowing that I can, we want to have a baby for them. We've both talked to a our parents about this and they believe it's a thoughtful decision and have already told us that they would be behind us the entire time if we decided to do this. We've even went as far as to talk to our friend/family member and they said they would love it and be highly greatful. The thing is I'm only 17 and he's 18. We would really love to give this couple a baby but are we too young to do this?

It is an amazing thing to do, not something I could do. Sounds like you're going about it the right way & counselling is definitely a good idea. The main worry I would have is what if there is a complication with pregnancy & birth that leaves you unable to get pregnant with your own children? It's rare but does happen? I think this is the reason why they recommend surrogates have finished having their own children first. Good luck whatever you decide. X

I think it is very noble of you to do so and don't think u are to young. However there are some questions that might not make this the right time yet. 
​Is the baby theirs? Egg donation and his sperm?
​Is it your egg and his sperm?
​Or is it your egg and your bf sperm?
​Sorry for the clinical but i think it makes a lot of difference if you have to give your own away or if you carried their baby. 
​I think that with the last two options it might be easier if you have children of your own. So you will know all the things that are involved with having a baby.  And have them to fall back on.
​But i think if u have counseling you will figure out what to do and when to do it. Best of luck!

that would be such an amazing gift for your friend! please consider the changes you will have to make to have this child, your body will change, your appetite, possibly your ability to work, your social life and possibly even your relationship with your bf and remember after all of this (whilst you have given your friend the most amazing gift) you won't have a child. as already suggested you should probably seek some advice or counselling. I wish you all the best and think that you are a very special person to even consider doing this!!

It's very generous of you guys but it's a very important decision that can affect you and your partner emotionally , I think you guys are too young , maybe you should wait at least a year or two and if you still want to do it then it's the right thing for you guys .

Also get someone to counsel yall bc there's more to it than just getting preg and popping out a kid, ur body changes u have emotions u have never had before, but if u think u could mentally do it, it would be  a wonderful gift!!!
