BMI says I'm overweight? *pictures*

Question

My BMI says that I am over weight at about 27.1 And most of my weight is in my stomach (minor gut) and my butt. I'm confused cause I don't think I  ook it, my fiancée doesn't believe so either. Anywho it's causing me to believe that we'll have a hard time ttc and I hate that I have doubts. What do you guys think? ​

No your not. The BMI doesn't take into account body shape and muscle weight. You look in good shape to me. Don't stress. BMI days I'm overweight too and I'm not.

BMI is very inaccurate, especially for people who have a high muscle % or just a more solid build than the "average" person. 
​For example, the military uses BMI, but some people they have to do a "tape test" because many of the men are "overweight" because they have so much muscle.  The tape test goes off measurements and proportions, rather than height and weight.

If we were to believe that bmi was an accurate way of determining "healthy weight" well all body builders are deemed obese as their ratio of height to weight is way out there just with muscle rather than fat!! It's a stupid way to calculate what's healthy. In fact I cannot believe doctors still use it.

I think BMI > 30 affects fertility otherwise you are good...good luck! :)
