Male infertility problems?

Question

Partner just had first semen analysis, came back no sperm at all. Having a other one. Doctor most unhelpful, giving results over the phone, telling partner basically google it! Quite worrying. I've read about various treatments. Anyone have experience of this?

Google it? Seriously?? Maybe you can see a different doctor? I have heard of sperm counts being raised with vitamins and diet changes. And sometimes you can just have an 'off' sample, which is why they check it more than once.

My boyfriend had surgery on his abdomen to remove cancer in 2010 and due to nerve damage he now has retrograde ejaculation. We went to the sperm bank shortly after to see if they could find sperm to freeze before chemo but they also said he had none. I know there were a lot of factors that could have affected his sperm count at that point in time but he was also given a brief phone call and that was all.  I feel like you should maybe get a second opinion, we were young at the time but now that we are older and hoping to have a family in a few years we wish we had gone back and tried again or at least gotten a second opinion before he went through chemotherapy.

​The situation may be different but I hope you get all the answers you are looking for through a doctor who cares to inform his patient and not some person who just tells you to google the answers, they gave you devistating news and I think you both deserved a better answer than what you were given.

I know! Awful doctor! We'll see another gp for the next results. He's very healthy - good amount of exercise, both have a good diet with lots of fresh veg, he's never smoked. Not sure about supplements, he stopped them s little while ago. I do hope you can can weird one offs like this! Weren't expecting no sperm!
