Well I'm on the pill right now but my SO doesn't want to start TTC until January....(when I become legal haha). Should I stop my BC now or wait until then?

I wouldn't stop earlier than Januar!!! Because you'll get MUCH trouble if you'll fall pregnant earlier! And most important: talk to your DH to inform him, what you are planing to do!!!

Well... Depends on who you ask. Many people specially if they are young conceive rather fast after getting off BC.
