The whole baby shower thing

So with my first pregnancy my husband and I were still dating. We used protection however we all know it fails sometimes. Which ours did. We hadn't really told our family's we were dating because it was so fun keeping it a secret. So of course when we found out it was overwhelming for everyone. Now I'm going to point out that I was 22 and he was 25 So it's not like we were in highschool. Anyway his family ( mainly little sister) didn't take the news so well so my last pregnacy was a taboo subject and even when I was like 8 months it wasn't talked about at all. I didn't get to be excited and have te gender reveal and cute announcement and all that because nobody was happy for us. So fast forward to now. We are married and our daughter is now 2 years old and we just found out we are preggo again. This is my last baby and I want this time to be so so exciting. I wanna do all the fun stuff this time around. My best friend is wanting to throw a sprinkle for us and do the gender reveal party. And help me make cute announcements. And my husband says no because he thinks his little sister once again will make a huge drama out of it and that all the stuff is a look at me look at me kinda thing. How do I even talk to him about this? Oh and his sister and I haven't gotten along since day 1 and I don't care what she thinks but my hubby just wants to keep the peace.
