Cervix throughout the day

Does your cervix change throughout the day? I always check mine in the morning when I'm showering. But for some reason I sort of have up checking the last two days. But I just randomly decided to check it out this evening and it was soft and high. It's always been high but it was the same consistency as my vaginal walls or similar to a lip as others have put it. Could this mean in bearing ovulation?! Of course my dh is asleep on the couch right now. Maybe I need to wake him up to bd!
