Anyone know how long to wait...

How long should you wait to test with a 50 iu pregnancy test? They aren't very sensitive so I'm assuming until after a missed period but how long? They are the only type available to me unfortunately so I'm having to work with them. ? They suggest around a week after missed AF but do I really have to wait that long?
