D&C - what to expect?

For all you ladies who have had a D&C - how bad is it?  How long does it take? Pain afterwards?  Recovery time?  I have one coming up on Thursday, and I must say, I'm pretty nervous.

I had one on 05/01 and was just as nervous as you! Turns out it's a pretty routine procedure and you won't feel a thing because you will be asleep. The duration was approx 20 mins so really short and recovery after wasn't too bad. Minor cramps and bleeding on and off for about 2 weeks. Good luck, you will be fine!

I had a d&c in jan. They put me under and the procedure went fine. Make sure you take it easy the few days following. I think I tried to do too much after. I bled for 4 weeks but from what I read that isn't common. Most are done within 1-3 weeks if not sooner. The emotional part hit me after my body recovered. Just take your time and follow your doctors orders. It's a tough time but you will get through it. Best of luck and I am so sorry for your loss.

It's really not so bad. They put you under and it's a short procedure. I really only had slight minor bleeding for 2-3 days and a little achy. I was super anxious before too- it's really a normal thing to be apprehensive. I was very emotional after, so make sure you have lots of love and support around you and be sure to rest as much as you can. Sorry for your loss <3
