Left shoulder pain, 3-4 weeks pregnant, q ectopic?

Question

Really worked myself up into a panic and desperately after some advice. 
​Found out I was pregnant this week and am only 3-4 weeks but suddenly got pain last night in my left shoulderblade and it's on and off today when I move. Rightly (or stupidly) googled the symptom and it said ectopic pregnancy....have no other symptoms of it really but do you think I should go get checked or would it be too early? Haven't even made a GP appt yet to confirm the pregnancy. Am really scared as had mmc in April and don't want this to be another loss :(

When I first found out I was pregnant I had some pains in my shoulder as well. I googled and can to the conclusion it was an ectopic.. I'd convinced myself of it. It wasn't. It was just connected to poor sleep lol

I would definitely talk to your OB, but sometimes when I get really bad heartburn or gas, the pain travels to my left shoulder...weird.

Thanks ladies for your replies, my shoulder actually feels easier this morning so I think that's a good sign. Will still mention it at my gp appt Tuesday tho. Hubby said it could be because I'm so tense about things that I got the pain in the first place. I'm trying to do positive thinking now. Happy and healthy 9 months to you all! xx

I would call your doc just incase, but I do believe the shoulder pain is caused from internal bleeding. Usually with an ectopic it takes until 7-9 weeks for a rupture to occur. I freaked myself out that I had one too and googled everything. I even thought I had shoulder pain I probably slept wrong lol.

I would call your ob. My friend just had just a few symptoms of ectopic and because she was so early, they took her bloods every other day to see if they were doubling since that all they could use with her being so early. Hers would go up about 35%. She held out as long as she could then had an ultrasound around 5-6 weeks and they saw a dark spot attached to her ovary...nothing in her uterus. Her levels only got to 898. She had the methotrexate shot last week. Better safe than sorry! I hear a rupture is really painful :(

You could've just pulled the muscle. I was having back pain for the first couple weeks after I found out and I couldn't get to sleep and was so sore. And then that went away and I pulled the muscle across my shoulder that went down under my arm pit and along my ribs. I wouldn't worry much. Just use a heating pad and stretch it out slowly to help it loosen up.
