How does it feel like to give birth?

I heard that burning alive was the number one most painful thing in earth and that giving birth was second! Anyways I'm just curious.

You know the the game tug-o-war?? Take that huge rope...wrap it around your waist once, and then have the teams pull as hard as they can every two minutes !!! LoL ... That's the best I can describe it !!!

By the way, for me the actual birth wasn't that bad...I only had to push three times, and I was unmedicated. There was an intense flash of pain as you're pushing the baby out, but after that it all fades away when you have your LO on your chest. :)

Your belly just tightens intensely with every contraction, but if you just focus on getting through one contraction at a time, remember to breathe and drink water, you'll be fine with a support team. Listen to your body's cues and push only when you feel the need to push. You can do it, mama!

It is the oddest feeling in the world - bloody painful as well. The weirdest bit is pushing though... You can't physically not push lol.
​Oh, they more or less tugged my placenta out as well and that felt like trying to pull a tamping out which you'd just inserted haha

It's like menstrual craps that are so unbearably painful that it makes you vomit.  If they give you the gas just haul on it and everything's ok for a few mins.   I was lucky and it was all over start to finish in 2 hours, no drugs just gas.  Had to have an epesiotomy (sp?) to prevent tearing. The worst part was the injections for the freezing

It felt like someone stabbed me in the abdomen with a dull knife and slowly ripped up to my rib cage. Then I had my epidural and didn't feel a thing. I was complaining of a foot cramp while I was pushing her out, but I was also distracted with vomiting while pushing.

In all honesty it feels as if the bottom half of your body is slowly being torn from you. Just like menstrual cramps x100. But the second the baby comes out it stops.

I think it depends on your pain tolerance!! I had back labor so all my pain started in my back and pretty much stayed there until I got to the hospital and the nurse broke my water then the pain moved to the front. My mom says it's like 1000 knives stabbing you. I don't know if I can compare it to anything. All I know is I am pregnant with my second baby right now and I think I am more nervous about going into labor this time because I already know it's going to hurt! But I swear once you see your baby you will not care or remember all the pain that happend.
