Gestational Diabetes??

Question

I had my normal glucose test last week and the results were right on the boarder so now I have to go back for the 3 hour test. I didn't have this with my last pregnancy so I really don't know what it is. Anybody else had to do the 3 hour testing? What is the difference?

The only bad part/difference is that you have to be there for 3.5 hours or so. So bring a good book. Good luck!

I failed my 3 hr test myself- I don't eat veggies and very little fruit- I drink lots of milk and water and my one downfall has been drinking pop even though I limited it. I don't know that It will be easy for me to deal with this.

Just had my 3 hour test today. Went well but boy was that a long morning! Lol. I fortunately took my knitting with me and there was a tv in the waiting room! Go prepared with throngs to do because it feels like a long time just sitting when you're hungry and thirsty. X

Thanks for letting me know what happens. I have heard how horrible the test was but didn't exactly know why. Not that is sound like fun or anything but doesn't seem THAT horrible.

Oh and he difference is that you fast for this test for 8 hours before. Then they draw your blood when you arrive. You drink the drink stuff and then for the next three hours, on the hour, they take your blood. It shows them how your body is processing the sugar x

I also had my 1 hour test last week and my numbers came back high at 170. My doc said they needed to be 140 or less. 
​I'm doing my 3 hour test tomorrow. I would never have thought my numbers would be that high as I have none of the markers for g.d (I'm a healthy weight for my height, excersize plenty, and eat well because I am a celiac and have issues with dairy so my diet is very well controlled)
