When I'm light it only covers half my tampin after having it in half the day 12 hours

The max I leave a tampon in is 3/4 hours ( right before I leave for work, till my break ) usually the first two days of my period the tampon will be completely saturated by then. Last cycle when I changed it at the 3/4 hour mark a good portion of it was still white. So I would consider that to be a light period.

I'd say if the pad isn't saturated and I don't feel gross about wiping after peeing the. It's light... Anything lighter is spotting, anything heavier is medium.

For me, if it isn't enough to be seeping through a pad. It's a very rare occasion for that to happen though.
