Teen abortion experience?

I'm not pregnant, but I was just wondering the process of a  Teen abortion. In CA I know you can get out w/o parental permission. But could you actually get away with it without your parents knowing? How long does an abortion take? How expensive is it? Does insurance cover it?

I wasn't a teen but I couldn't have gotten away with it if I was and was living with my parents. I had medication abortion in CA for $500. It was painful and scary and I was crying and loopy from pain meds so I don't think it would have been easy to hide from them. No insurance coverage but I honestly don't think insurance should cover that sort of thing.

1. Abortions don't all take the same amount of time. It depends on two things: whether it is surgical or chemical. And how far along it is takin place. Sometimes, abortions are a 15 minute in office procedure, and sometimes, they are a two day event. 
​2. Abortions cost different amounts based on the same criteria listed above. The further along you are, the more it will cost, and surgical will cost more than chemical. 
​3. Insurance /may/ cover abortion for medical issues, but elective abortions are usually out of pocket. Though, if you are filing an insurance claim, your parents will find out about it.

​Really, abortion is a very difficult decision to make. As a teen, enlisting the support of a parent or trusted adult is crucial. In some states, parental notification is the law unless waived by a judge.

I got an abortion at 14. I was raped by a 21 year old drunk guy. I found out I was pregnant and knew I wouldn't keep the baby. I went to planned parenthood and got the abortion for free because of my age and I was raped.

It's all different in California. I'm pretty sure planned parenthood gives the pill free. I had a surgical abortion the further along you are the more expensive it is. I wouldn't reconmend doing it ever. It was the worst experiance of my life
