Late first appointment?

I'm 7 weeks along, and the first time the doctor can see me isn't until August 20th! That seems really late to me, but I'm a first time mommy so I have no clue what's "normal." Should I call and push for something sooner? Thanks for your feedback!!

It's normal for drs to schedule to see you around 10 weeks if you are not high risk ..I'm also 7 weeks. I see a nurse at 8 weeks for paperwork and blood work , and the dr at 10. In the grand scheme of things if you are pregnant and considered "normal" , just eat as well as you can and take prenatals- not much for a dr to do until later anyways. In the us , they like you to miss 2 Periods before scheduling appts . If you are worried however , push for something earlier- it's your pregnancy!

I am 6.5 weeks, and my first app with my doctor which I haven't even seen yet, is August 18th... So I  am kind of in the same boat... It my first pregnancy, and it feels like a little late for the first app-nt., moreover I have problems with thyroid which is has to be treated immediately., but I am still waiting and it makes me go crazy:)

Most doctors will see pts around the 8 week mark unless they have a reason to do it sooner.

I'm also 7 weeks and they wanted to see me between 8-10 weeks. My first appt is Aug 1st at 9 weeks. This is my first to so not sure what's normal. Hope this helps some. ?

You may want to look for another doctor, or call them and ask them to call you if there are any cancellations before then. A lot of doctors don't want to see a patient until after 7 weeks unless there's an issue!
