Social networking and relationships just don't mix. We've been together right at 7 years and neither one of us use FB etc. If not used for the purpose of family, it destroys!!! Take it from someone who knows.

If your relationship status still says "single", I think it's important to change it to "in a relationship". I guess I just don't know why you would want your relationship status to say "single" if you are actually in a relationship. Unless you're doing something sketchy that you shouldn't be doing that is...

​If you just don't have your relationship status on your profile at all, I don't think it's a big deal. You might want to talk to your partner about it though :)

I guess some people need less temptation in relationships. My husband and I married 5yrs. we share the conversations we have with old mates. Its about being open&honest with each other. Communication!

If you can't trust your partner on FB I say you have a untrustworthy relationship, unless they are on E-Harmony you should be able to trust them to socialize whether in person or on the internet.

When my then boyfriend (now husband) had been dating awhilewe both decided to delete our FBs and we are both happy we did. Too much drama, waste of time, and if you really want to stay connected with family, call/email/visit them.

I think once it's established that the relationship has gone to exclusive,  then yes... status needs to be changed from single to in a relationship.
