Bottles...which are the best???...

Just wondering the opinion of what you think the best bottles are, and why? I am trying to finish my registry and came to this portion and there's so many to pick from, Tommee Tippee, Dr. Brown, Phillips AVENT, Thermos, Medela, etc....I would like to know which specific ones from each brand, cause there's more to choose from once you narrow down to a brand...

Difficult question. It can vary from baby to baby as to what they'll feed best with. As a Nicu nurse I'm more tuned in with what preemies feed best with. The general rule is the cheaper the better! Supermarket own bottles usually have softer teats which are easier for the smaller babies. The only brand we often send parents out looking for is Nuk but specifically the latex teat rather than the silicone one the bottles come with. The main thing all my cleagues agree on is Avent teats are too hard for prems and for many newborns. They're probably great once the babies are bigger and stronger.

​Essentially start with a softer teat and don't spend a fortune on an army of bottlles as it may be trial and error to find the right one for your baby.

Jas anybody heard anything on the first years brand? I noticed they really don't sell their bottles in store anywhere which is weird since they have pumps.

Tommee Tippee is the most popular brand with all of the moms that I know. I have purchased a couple, however I plan to breast feed for as long as possible. I also received a Playtex Pump that had bottles w/ drop ins. I like their smaller size and think that once I start making the transition from breast to bottle I will be using the Playtex bottles first. Especially the 6oz vented bottles.
