Being on top

I honestly don't understand in being on top.. I've tried and tried with my boyfriend and I can't seem to get it.. I've watched adult videos and I tried doing it the same way as them and still can't get it down.. When I boyfriend tells me to try spontaneously while were in the middle of sex I'll try for about 5 mins then just get off and cry.. What do I do?? Any help:/
