decoding the acronyms we use
It took me a bit of time while I was new to figure out what everyone was saying so I thought maybe making a little guide would help anyone who's new.. I'm gonna start with the ones that come to mind so please feel free to add any I might have missed!
ttc- trying to conceive
attc- actively trying to conceive
so- significant other
dh- dear husband
dd- dear daughter
ds- dear son
bbt- basil body temperature
cm- cervical mucus
ccm- creamy cervical mucus
ewcm- egg white cerical mucus
wcm- watery cervical mucus bd or bding- baby dancing aka. doing the deed
baby dust- just means good luck
af- aunt flow
o- ovulation
od- ovulation day
cd- cycle day
opk- ovulation prediction kit
frer- First Response Early Results
Fx- fingers crossed
fmu- first morning urine
bfp- big fat positive
bfn- big fat negative
lp- luteal phase
lh- luteinizing hormone (what opks test for)
hs- high surge (of lh, meaning you're ovulating) smep- sperm meets egg plan
mc- miscarriage
tww- two week wait (to test for pregnancy)
pcos- poly cystic ovarian syndrome
alright I think that's a pretty good start, I've racked my brain and those are a lot of the commonly used ones I've seen used on here. please add to the list (as I know there are more)! we're all here to support each other so no shame for not knowning, ask questions if you need to and of course baby dust to everyone!
