Tattoo advice?

Im getting my first tattoo Monday, and it just so happens to be on my ribs. I've heard that ribs are the worst spot, so what's the pain like? Should I drink some wine before I go? Lol.

Alcohol is a blood thinner, so any is a bad idea before a tattoo. Some people have different opinions on this, but it can make you bleed more while getting the tattoo which can be annoying or difficult for your artist. So wine is a no go (even though maybe you were just kidding, I'm just saying.)
​Everyone I've talked to has different levels of pain for their tattos. It's just different for everyone. I think of it like shallow cat scratches. Annoying and a bit painful, but bearable. 
​Afterwards, take really really good care of it to avoid infection and heal properly.  It's going to hurt like a sunburn for a while, but when you get past that, if you've picked something you love then it's all worth it!

Ribs are very painful. I got one on my foot and that was very painful. There is a numbing balm you can find and use to put on the area before the tattoo and you should be just fine.

Don't take or drink anything before you get tattooed medications thin your blood as well as alcohol making you bleed more, i have three tattoos and every one i drank a lot of water and had a good meal in my stomach before my appointment. Both are important so you dont pass out. Good luck with your rib piece! :)

Don't drink wine before getting tattoo'd, and unfortunately, yes it will hurt on the ribs. Fortunately, it lasts only while the needle is going.

My bf just got my name on his ribs a few months ago and he said it was one of the most painful tattoos he's ever gotten, and he's literally tattooed from head to toe.

The one I have on my ribs didn't hurt, it was more annoying than anything. The only word I can describe it as would be itchy or scratchy maybe. Like if you scrape your leg on a sticker bush. Not as bad as my foot at all, and even that wasn't bad. Take some ibuprofen about 30 minutes before :) goodluck!
