Is this normal?

Last month when I got my period the cramps were so bad I had to take 6 Tylenol to make it feel better. I was overheating and dripping sweat. I had a massive headache and could barely keep my own saliva down I was so nauseous. It has never been like this before and I was really scared. Is this normal or has it happened to anyone else?

Fun fact: Tylenol is not as effective as Ibuprofen for period cramps. Ibuprofen limits the production of prostaglandins which regulate your uterine cramps. I recommend 400mg doses.

I normally have mild cramps, but I had one period that was excruciating and debilitating. I got through it with Tylenol, and still don't know the cause.

That does not sound normal. Have you talked with your doctor about it? It might be a good idea to also ask about the Tylenol thing because taking too much isn't good for your liver.

Some period cramps are worse than others. One time my cramps were so bad that I couldn't even walk back to my dorm after an exam! My boyfriend had to help me back and he was almost late to class as a result. I don't know why some months hurt more than others but fluctuating pain seems normal. I'd consult a doctor if it's always this bad or it's really bad quite often

I'm not sure if its normal but I had this happen to me a few times last year or so. It happened a few days before my period each time though. It would last about two nights but it was during the night, I would wake up and have the sams symptoms and it would get so bad and I would get so hot that I went and layed on my bathroom floor in the middle of winter and sleep the rest of the night there (if I even got sleep) it was absolutely dreadful. That was when I was fifteen, now sixteen, and it happened about 9 times. I'm not sure if this is the same thing you going through, it sure sounds close. I'm not sure what caused it and I never went to the doctor about this so I'm sorry I have no legit medical advice. But I hope this helps in sone way and I hope you get things figured out. It has seemed to stop happening to me, at least for now.
