Maybe a stupid question

Everyday my period is late, I am editing it back a day, however this is just making my cycle longer and not really acknowledging I could be late? Does this change later on Down the line or? I just think it's saying one day til af blah blah blah but not that it was scheduled and hasn't come?

Maybe a stupid question but can anyone shed some light or is that just how it is?
