Caesarean anyone?

I have 2 boys aged 3 and 5. My eldest was a planned c section as his head was on the 98th centile (very very large) and my pelvis is titled so they was concerned he could break his neck on the way out. My second child's head measured a normal size so I went for a vbac (vaginal birth after caeaarean) and unfortunately at 4cm dilated my old csection scar ruptured (complete uterine rupture) and I was rushed in for a crash caesarean as both of us we're critical. I swore I'd never have another but I love children and here I am again 10 weeks pregnant and of course I will have to have a caesarean this time but it will be planned and it will have to be at roughly 36/37 weeks so I don't risk having contractions as this could rupture my uterus again. Is anyone else having a caesarean by choice or because of medical reasons?

So wait! You can have a cesarean by choice? I have a heart problem and have been nervous about delivery.

Hi ash yes you can have a class team by choice. Some woman have it just for the pure fact that they are petrified of delivering naturally and the stress of it makes the ill. Lots of reasons but speak to your doctor. If you have a heart condition then you can have a caesarean I'm sure as your classed at risk. Good luck too you x

I'm going to have a voluntary c-section because I'm high risk due to EDS-Hypermobility type and MS. With my eds there's risk for terrible tearing, hip dislocations, needing a blood transfusions, among other things. This is my first pregnancy.

I having baby number 3 my first was normal my second was an emergency c section due to complications with my sins heartrate dropping and my third he said has to be a plan c section I wanted to try normal but doctor said do you want to put ur life and the baby on the line I said OFCOURSE not due to my past and now being 35 and high risk ?

In some way yeah I feel tho I've missed out on the natural birth side.. Not completed it but then I look on Telly watch one born every minute and think thank god I didn't have to go through all that pain.lol what about you would you like to experience the natural way if you would? X

I'll be having my third C-section. First was an emergency C-section because baby got stuck. She was face-up instead of face-down and my pelvis is very narrow. Second baby was a planned C-section, but I went into labor 3 days before I was scheduled, so they just did the C-section right then. Third will be another C-section to avoid another emergency/stuck baby and to avoid a rupture.

I have to! I had my 3 daughters vaginally,  my son I had preterm at 19wks my cervix was sewn but ripped through, he passed, swore i would never try again, well 3 months later I got pregnant everything was running smooth until 29wks my water was leaking so I was on bed rest well by day 5 her heart stopped so they rushed me into the OR and I had an emergency c-section, I lost lily at 30wks, here I am 3 yrs later at 6wks & 4days, had a talk with the dr and I did wanna do a vbac but he said with all my risks that a c-section would be the best I already have preterm and weak cervix working against me I dnt need to add more risks so c-section it is!

I completely understand. A planned c section is a lot more relaxed than a emergency. You know where you stand, you know the due date and you can prepare yourself. Do you feel sad that you couldn't give birth naturally? I did at first but I understand now the health comes first :)

I'm asking for a c-section by choice, my 1st was born 7weeks early by emergency c-section I didn't have any labour pains only went in hospital for a check up as I didn't feel him move all day and ended up having to be rushed into theater an hour later as his heart rate dropped.. I'm more worried about not going full term again and with not having no labour pains with my son, I'm scared of actually giving birth naturally, I only know the c-section way I feel more prepared and less stressed about labour if I could repeat having a c-section again. I've got to see my consultant he will decide if I should have a c-section.
