What to do when he isn't sure he wants children?

This thread is to discuss women who want children and have partners who either don't want children or don't want to have any more children. Do you compromise? Do you get preggo anyway? How do you cope with wanting children when your partner doesn't?

One of my male best friends did not want children. As he grew older and after a while of being in love he started changing his mind. Now he looks forward to having kids.

​I think a man just sometimes needs more time to start wanting kids.

​I would suggest to not to get preggo anyway. You want to raise your child with your partner not alone and you want your children to have a father who wants them. Hopefully he'll open his eyes an see he wants kids.

If someone says they hands down do no want children you have to respect that. Do not get married or continue a relationship thinking they will change their mind. It's dishonest and selfish. Kids aren't for everyone.

​For so's who don't want anymore- that's a discussion between partners. Maybe get the to the bottom of why. They could just be overwhelmed or know what's best for them.

I think if my husband didn't want children we wouldn't have got married. To me it's a deal breaker.

​It is different if you can't have children as that isn't a choice. That's the card life has dealt you. But if they have openly chosen not to is have to leave.

I think you and your partner should talk more about it and decide if it's something that would can deal with or if you need to end the relationship over it. Don't go get pregnant just because it will cause more problems in your relationship good luck

My fiancé didn't want children at first and the longer we were together and he saw how bad I wanted them he finally gave in.

I have been with my so for 4 years and he has never wanted children and I have always wanted a family. We moved intogether and before we did we had a serous talk I didn't want to waste any time if he wasent going to marry me and give me a baby. He agreed to it. But idk I question it sometimes. He dosent like kids but I think he will love his own?:(

I am in this situation my so doesn't want anymore kids and I do. We take about it often and he says he will give me a baby to make me happy but I don't want him to do it to make me happy I want it to be a mutual decision so I have decided to give up on having a baby at this time because I love him so much.

My partner has a 5yr old daughter. He's not sure if he wants any more and knows that if he don't see him changing his mind it's over for us, it breaks my heart either way and I'm holding on preying he changes his mind. It's difficult for me as I'm 29 and need fertility treatment - time is running out and I couldn't think of anyone else I would want to be my baby's daddy... It hurts so much going trough this :'(
