Blood Work

Went to my first doctors appt today to confirm pregnancy. I thought I was 6 weeks but my cycles are usually 35 days. She did a vaginal ultrasound and said I looked way earlier then six weeks but my walls were starting to thicken. She sent me for blood work every other day for 3 days. Has this happened to anyone before? Very nervous and wish I knew more. She said because my cycles were so far apart I may have ovulated later. But  my fear Is the baby is not progressing.
