IVs & blood transfusion
Had anyone had a blood transfusion before?
If so what did the site feel like after it was removed?
I had a MC on Friday night that got so bad I needed to go to the hospital. I passed out and hit my head in the hospital. Needed to have morphine for intense cramping and have the placenta removed because it was stuck right at the opening of my cervix and was causing me to hemmorage. My hemoglobin dropped from 74 to 70 and they decided to give me a blood transfusion because it was still dropping and I was loosing consciousness. I left the hospital Sunday morning, and now it's Monday evening. I needed two bags of blood and 4 bag of saline. I feel okay now, but I'm tired and everywhere the needles were are sore. Food makes me feel a little sick. I have an intense headache from hitting my head.
How long should I expect to be sore from the IVs and everything else? They told me that it can take up to 2 months for me to be not so tired anymore and that it will be closer to 3 months for my hemoglobin to be high enough again for me to TTC again.
