How early is to early to have a baby shower!

What is a good time to have a baby shower I don't want to have one a month before baby due date because in my family we have a lot of preemies! But I want to be able to have the baby shower and have time to set everything up and make a list of everything I still need and still have time to get it all I was think like 3 month befor baby what do u think?
