TTC and Clomid

I have been trying to conceive for about a year. My husband and I went in to talk to our ob about our options. She had more than one recommendation but the one we felt comfortable with was clomid. I can't help but feel kind of like a failure that I can't do this on my own. We have lost a child at 34 weeks, we have a 2 1/2 year old, I ovulate every month but still nothing. I know that it is stress but  don't know how to calm myself down. Anyway for those of you that have or are using clomid how has it worked for you and what are some side effects if any?
