Sex while on your period

I know it sounds completely gross but hear me out (Especially those trying for a baby, who may have been trying for a while).  A friend of mine would have sex during her periods without protections on purpose in hopes of not getting pregnant! Well guess what!?! SHE GOT PREGNANT! Of course it was not planned.... So my question to those who have been trying to conceive for more than 6 months, would you be willing to try that? ????
