Implant removal?

I called my doctors surgery the other day to arrange to have my contraceptive implant removed and we would like to start trying on our honeymoon in October but doc wants to talk about removal first and can't fit me in until mid September!! Will that be enough time for my body to adjust and what is there to talk about??!! Any ideas?? Thanks

I had mine removed in feb of 2014 and it's about to be September and still no BFP , and I've only had two periods in the past 6 months , I really regret getting that birth control but everyone is diffrent . Baby dust to you

I had an iud removed January... Still all messed up, but I've heard that some women get pregnant right after. It really just depends.

I had Mirena removed April 2014 and I'm still trying. I do regret getting it as now I have irregular periods and no idea if I'm ovulating. I would say if you're ready for a baby, remove ASAP to give you more time. Baby dust to you :) Xx

I've just had my 3rd removed 4 months ago 1st removed had my boy a year later 2nd removed and had my girl within the 1st year also.. now ttc #3 and had 2 healthy 26 day cycles now on 33rd day and no af but zero symptoms with 3 bfn.. Fingers crossed and baby dust to all :-)

Unfortunately there's no hard and fast rules it just depends on how your body reacts. I always had irregular periods with the implanon and 3 days after removal got a 5 day af. You hear stories of women getting preg straight away and others that aren't so lucky. I went to get mine removed and had to have a consult and pre-pregnancy blood test to check my blood levels, they we're all good and I had it removed. Good luck!

I had mine removed. The doctor who removed it tried talking me out of it every time I would come in to get it removed. (3 times) I only had it for 2 years and she didn't want to remove it because you're supposed to have it for at least 3 years up to 5 years if u wait that long. So the consultation to have it removed was pointless. She just talked to me about once it's removed I'm fertal and how she was going to remove it, and if I thought I was making the right decision... I'm 22 years old, I know what I want lol I have a son already and a husband. After she removed it, I bleed for about 2 weeks, then my periods would be 2 weeks apart and sometimes only 3 days long. But everyone is different. It's been 2 months and I've been TTC every since I've stopped bleeding after the removal. No luck yet, but waiting on my period this week, it's 4 days late according to the glow app. But I guess we will see! Good luck to u!!
