Chicken pox during 2nd trimester

So I had to go to the ER last night to see my doctor.  Started out with a slight fever then suddenly these blisters started appearing all over my body.  I'm a teacher and started having symptoms only 2 days after the school year started.  Going to see my doc in his office today to get bloodwork done to confirm if it's actually chicken pox.  Doc said this is the best time if it is and said he'd be worried if I was still in my first trimester or about to give birth.  Has this happened to anyone?  Any advice?
