You have 4 OTC oral pain killer options. Acetaminophen is safe in pregnant women. Never greater than 4,000mg per day (some recommendations say no more than 3,000). I always say start with one 325mg tablet every 4-6 hours as needed. If that's not enough try one 500mg (an extra strength Tylenol). Then up it to two 500mg if needed. And only dose every 4-6 hours, never more often than that. Aspirin, ibuprofen (Motrin) and naproxen (aleve) are big a no-no. No combo stuff like Excedrin either. (I'm a licensed pharmacist in IL & MO and get asked this very often)
