Clomid???

Question

Why wont my doctor put me on clomid he wants me to wait to see if i ovualte but i obviously dont because of my pcos i think?!?

I have had PCOS for 3 years now and the doctor just upped my dose of metformin to see if it will stimulate ovulation.  He was hesitant to put me in clomid right away due to the high risks if overstimulation of the ovaries and multiples.  I have a month to go before we see if the higher dose of metformin is working.  We have been TTC for 8 1/2 months now and haven't been successful. We have been trying not to think about it, but the yearning for a child is growing stronger for bit of us!  We are hoping ovulation occurred this month.

Have you done any tests to confirm pcos? Dr probably reluctant to put you on clomid without testing first- it's not the right drug for everyone and there are risks associated with it.
