Does your family know you are TTC

Question

We have decided to try but we don't want our family to know right now, we aren't sure how they'd react or if they'd approve. And though that doesn't matter to us we don't want the negativity. Have you told your family and are they supportive about ttc?

I've told my mother but not his. With our first together, she stole my thunder and posted to FB that I was pregnant before I could tell anybody. Now she gets no info until I'm ready for the world to know.

Yes, we told both our Moms. They both could use something positive in their lives right now, and, even though we're not pregnant yet, they are both excited and keep making baby plans. :)

My thinking on it is, for me, it's been difficult to conceive. It's been two years & I've heard it all from friends that know I'm ttc. I've heard the 'well you're so young' & the 'why don't you go to a specialist if it's that hard?'. People just don't understand how hard it really is until they've gone through it themselves. So I figure don't tell them you're trying, just tell them when you're pregnant. That's what my husband & I are planning on doing.

I've told my mom because she has always been very supportive of me and she's not pushy; she's also well aware of my endometriosis and the fact that it might take a long time to get pregnant.  We haven't told my husband's family yet, though.  They're very stressful and often make comments without realizing that they're being overbearing/offensive.  My advice to you is, if you think your family or your SO's family will be of support to you, then tell them, but if there's a chance that they'll stress you out more, keep it to you guys :)

I've told my mom because we are extremely close and she supports me 100% in everything I do but not many others know we are TTC at this time... My husband has told his dad and a few close friends that we are looking to be starting a family eventually.

Only me and him know ?. If we told his family they would do whatever they could to stop us so I wouldn't be part of the family. They don't like me mua haha

We told our family however now after 2 years of trying I wished I'd never said anything. The infertility is already stressful on myself and now with the extra comments and disappointments from our family it makes it even more stressful. They are very supportive but sometimes they forget and make comments that really hurt such as "you aren't doing it right", "I'm never gonna be a grandma"...
