Winter coat (and boots)

Hi everyone, I'm pregnant for the for the first time and an due April 8th. This means I'm going to have to sort out what I will be doing for a winter coat. Any one have suggestions? I was looking at those extension panels but don't know which ones are good and warm enough. Thoughts?

I'm also a little worried about sliping on ice - any good boot recommendations?
